A Sunday Ritual Near Oben Coworking at the Coín Cheese Market

Coín cheese Market event

The Coín Cheese Market is back on Sunday, 15th February, bringing the town to life with the sights, smells, and flavours of some of Málaga’s best artisanal cheeses.

There’s something incredibly comforting about a good piece of cheese, isn’t there? The intense, piquant kick of a well-cured Payoyo, the buttery richness of a fresh Malagueña goat’s cheese, or a firm Manchego rubbed in rosemary and olive oil. Spanish cheese is in a league of its own. The Coín Cheese Market is a monthly celebration of these artisanal flavours, bringing the best local cheeses to our town.

What’s The Coín Cheese Market All About?

On the edge of Coín, the Mercado de Quesos de Málaga takes place at the Polígono Industrial “La Trocha” on the third Sunday of every month (except in summer). The Mercadillo Agroalimentario de Coín turns into a lively hub of producers, offering a front-row view of some of the finest “oros blancos” (white golds) from across the province. Beyond cheese, the market showcases the wider bounty of the Guadalhorce Valley, including crusty artisan breads, local organic wines, honey from the Sierra, Alhaurín olives, and even traditional cured meats. It’s the kind of place where you can assemble a complete gourmet spread, all while supporting the families who keep these traditions alive.

Why We Love The Market

For us at Oben Coworking, the market is a perfect reflection of Coín’s vibrant community spirit and dedication to local craftsmanship. Although we’re closed on Sundays, it’s a regular reminder of the rich local culture just a short stroll from our office. Digital nomads and anyone working nearby during the week can plan a weekend outing around it, enjoying a slow Sunday morning browsing the stalls and tasting the flavours that make this region so special.

Why Coín cheese Market Worth a Look

The market is ideal for a relaxed morning, for serious cheese lovers as well as just looking for a pleasant way to spend a Sunday. Grab a coffee, chat with the producers, try a few samples, and soak in the atmosphere. It’s a welcoming space where friends and families gather, stories are shared, and the joy of local food is at the centre of it all. Taking place every third Sunday, the Coín Cheese Market is the perfect excuse to get out, enjoy the community, and discover some of the best artisanal cheeses Málaga has to offer.

Where and When to Find the Coín Cheese Market

Being just a short walk from our coworking space, the market is one of those local rhythms that makes this area feel so alive. Even if you’re visiting Coín for work, a Sunday morning spent wandering the stalls is a delightful way to connect with the authentic flavours, people, and traditions of the Guadalhorce Valley.
